21 February 2018 maximum limit of 80DRs 25,000 (mediclaim Policies) ,including preventive health check-ups get a benefit of up to Rs 5,000

Deduction under section 80DDB is allowed for medical treatment of a dependent who is suffering
1.Neurological Diseases where the disability level has been certified to be of 40%
2.Malignant Cancers
3.Full Blown Acquired Immuno-Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
4Chronic Renal failure
5.Hematological disorders

individual suffering from disability himself gets tax benefit under section 80U,A person with disability means the person is suffering from 40% of a disability.

Mental illness
