Wrongly deposited a challan of excise in service tax in bank

27 January 2012 Sir,

can any one advise me that what should i do if i deposited wrongly challan of central excise into service tax into bank. Please send me a format of letter with a request to bank for modification due to clerical error.

28 January 2012 You can simply address a letter to the Bank for change of Heads. In case it was already deposited in the Govt's account, you can address a letter to PAO ( Pay and Accounts Officer) to consider the same as Central Excise Dues and write a letter to Range Officer explaining the same.
