16 October 2013 Sir,

My client has applied for PAN under status Firm but he has been alloted PAN with Company status. The fourth letter in PAN ls "C". Now what should he do. He should apply for new pan or keep continue the same. He has to file income tax return U/s 44AD. In company section 44AD is not allowed .Please suggest the best idea.

16 October 2013 well the question is how you file the correction Application? There is no column in Form 49AA for change of the constitution of the entity???

The best approach shall be to apply for a new PAN and request for cancellation of the old pan.

16 October 2013 Here they have to write a letter to PAN issuing agency for correction in error occurred from their error.

If this would have their mistake then same could have been routed through correction mode.
