Wrong credit into account

03 May 2013 The Banker has credited amount twice into my account. how do i justify the duplicate entry for filing income tax. should i declare a unknown credit into account or obtain a written confirmation from the banker. The wrong credit has been rectified in subsequent financila year. please guide.

03 May 2013 You need not to show such wrong credited amount as unknown credit and offering as income for tax purpose because of it is the mistake of the bank as well as you find out the reason of the credit.
So you need not to treat it as income for income tax purpose. As well as for any further or in future requirement and evidence you shall obtain a certificate from the bank for the wrongly crediting into your account by mistake on the date vide transaction no XXX and the same has been rectified later on the date vide transaction no XXX and we are certifying the mistake is committed by us only the client didn't have any interest in this regards.
