Any work, which is incomelete at the time of closing of the accounting period and the working is still going on on that work, is known as work in progress.

not fully done work is called work in progress
for eg
the inventory on 31 march (end of F.Y.)on which some work is done ,but it is not converted into finished good completely is known as work in progress
