Will stamp duty and other expenses be included 194ia

28 June 2013 Dear Expert,

Please clarify whether stamp duty and other expenses like maintenance, deposits with govt will be added to the sale consideration while computing 1% TDS u/s 194IA?

28 June 2013 Yes... according to me stamp duty .. maintenance deposits with government both will be included while computing 1 % sale consideration u/s 194IA..

28 June 2013 TDS @ 1% has to be on the 'consideration for transfer of immovable property' which obviously excludes stamp duty, maintenance charges etc.,
