WHAT IS THE MEANING OF WHOLESALERS AND RETAILERS AND HOW WE IDENTIFY THIS BUSINESS IS RETAIL AND THIS BUSINESS IS WHOLE SALE PLEASE TELL

03 October 2009 You have asked a very open and debatable question..which can be answered in different contexts.

But normally

Retailer is the persn who sells goods directly to customer,

and wholeseller person (other then producer) who sells goods
to any retailer or
to other wholeseller.

03 October 2009 Verify the sale bills of assessee. If the sale is directly to the consumer then it is a retail trade and if the sale is to shop, stockist, then it is wholeseller.

03 October 2009 In other words, if the purchaser is the 'end user' it is a retail transaction other wise it is wholesale.
