Whether ca in service can be insurance agent

I am qualified in Nov 2012 and working in a MNC, now i want to join as life insurance agent, Can any one clarify me whether i can join as insurance agent, whether i need to take permission from the institute? I dont have COP.

As long as you are not planning to appy for COP, there is no restriction for becoming an insurance agent.

11 February 2013 Yes off course there is no problem to pursue to career in insurance. it is you who is supposed to decide your career not the institute. you dont have planning to be practising accountant then you can do everything what you intend to do.
