When to pay income tax

29 April 2016 Sir one of my relative is retired Central Govt. Employee he is getting pension and he is still working in that Organization as Contractual Employee.
When he is getting pension bank is deducting TDS on Pension. when he add his salary as a contractual employee to the pension he has to pay a some of tax.
My query is when he has to pay Income tax on 31st march or at the time of return?

29 April 2016 Pay advance tax if tax payable is more than 10000 otherwise pay and file the return on or before the due date of filing the return.

29 April 2016 if his income is exceeds exempt limit then he have to pay tax on income.

29 April 2016 Calculate the total tax if he is liable to pay advance tax. Pay the advance tax. if it is not paid on time interest on it will be payable. If there is no advance tax liability You can pay it before 31st July after that interest will be payable.
