Welfare payment is taxable or not

Our company has a welfare benefit policy, In which we are paying 8 lacs to employee nominee in the case of death of employee, can any body tell me it will taxable on the hands of nominee or we should deduct the tax while payment made.

in my opinion its not subject to TDS. its not the compensation for tfr of any assets.
