Weather we have to charge servicetax

sir i am an individual i have given my property on rent to askmebazzar.com at 30000pm. do i have to charge service tax on this rent. I dont have any other rental income. and if i have to charge service tax than do i have to take servicetax registration no. and file return.

Assuming that you don't render any other taxable service and the value of taxable service during the previous year was less than Rs. 10 lacs, you will be eligible for exemption upto Rs 10 lacs. You are not required to charge service tax.
Since, the value of taxable service shall be less than Rs 9 lacs, you are not required to obtain registration also.

The ssi exemption will be available upto 10 lakhs. no need to charge service tax.
