24 March 2008 we observe since last 4 to 5 years no body is filing wealth tax returns in our region , now department is issuing notices for filing of returns, will you please guide me how to handle the problems of earlier year & current year wealth tax return if an assesse covered in filing criteria but not yet filed.

25 March 2008 They can file belated returns and can file return on notice.but delayed returns they have to pay penalities.

25 March 2008 If Wealth is less than 15 Lakh. You can told them welath was less than 15 Lakh so we did not file return. On the other side if they send any notice you must reply as per notice
