Can anybody tell me how is Vlookup & Hlookup used?

V Lookup is Vertical Lookup Which means bringing the data in the Column from some other Column. Here the One column must be Common in bothe the sheet or file such common Cloumn is to be called as a base column.
H Lookup is horizontal Look up Which means bringing the data in the row from some other row. Here the One row must be Common in bothe the sheet or file such common row is to be called as a base row.

Thanks but i already know this. I just want to know how it is used.

Suppose in a set of huge data you want to find a persons salary for last month compared to this month we can use vlookup.
=vlookup()
=vlookup()

it is pratically used in searching some field value from different sheet having one similar field rows or columns even not arranged similarly.
