recently i have read 60% vat on Liquors in Gujarat (As per Gujarat Sales Tax site).
selling of liquor is banned in gujarat
why they mention 60%...???

They are quoting sales tax rates not applicable now. Now VAT scheduled rates are in force. There are some areas,like defence canteens,IAS officer,s clubs who have a special permission for consumption of liquor.In their case sales tax will be charged at 60%,as you said....mjk
