Vat on goods imported

13 May 2017 A consumer imports in India a Camera from an e commerce web site which is based in USA. The website in USA has arrangement with an Indian Company to act as a facilitator for clearing these goods from Custom, collect payment on behalf of the website and remit it to their bank in USA. Will VAT be charged if any ? If yes on whom consumer or facilitator or US website?

13 May 2017 If Indian company traders in camera, Yes VAT is to be charged at time of its sales and if cameras are directly sold to consumers then collect VAT from consumers otherwise to dealer to whom cameras will sold.
