Vat on free issue material in maharashtra

30 November 2012 We are manufacturing company of electronic equipments located in Maharashtra coming under excise. We have to supply one equipment of value say 10,000/- to our customer located in Maharashtra. Customer has issued FIM of value say 4,000/- to us against delivery challan and CA's cost certificate.

Please suggest us, how should be our tax invoice ?

01 December 2012 You need not consider the Free Issue materials value under VAT and additional VAT is payable on it. But under service tax you need to consider value of such free issue materials while arriving at service tax if opting for abatement.
