26 September 2013 hello sir i have a buisness of ready made garments in vashi...i have not filled vat returns for two years march12 sept12 march13 sept 13 ..my buisness was closed from march 12 to august 2012 ...i have bills till sept 2011 ...now i have started my buisness again how to i continue to pay vat ....how much penalty will be charged ....pls guide me ...

26 September 2013 You can file your returns only if you are still registered under vat act or suspended if your tin no status is shown as cancelled then you have to apply for new TIN No.

26 September 2013 If you have started the business with the same old TIN no,try to file the returns in usual way. If the system accepts your returns okay. If not,you have to go to your VAT office to get the registration activated aagain. In many states it will be cancelled completely,whereas in others it will be in a suspended condition.When you go to the VAT office they can help yo to file all the old/left out returns again and also to continue with the old regstration.....mjk
