Vat charged by diminos pizza

Dominos pizza are charging VAT @ 14% and service tax @ 4.5%. Since home delivery is free what service do they charge? And why is VAT rate so high?

Because, unfotunately, Catering service is chargeable both under VAT and ST laws. The charging mentioned by you are correct. ....mjk

Although the Home delivery is free and they are not separately charging for the same it is not at all taxed to you but the provisions of the act is such that if any catering service is supplying the food then they are covered under both the acts as has been stated by the expert therefore they are charging VAY and ST which is mendatory
