26 December 2011 I need to know about the following:-
1 ) what is the rate of maharashtra vat applicable on car cleaning kit (containing 5 items for cleaning)
2) when should i register for vat?
3) whether both condtions should be satisfied for registration, rs,500000 sales and 10000 taxable sales / puchases or any one of them is enough for compulsory registation?
4) registration fees applicable is rs.5000 or rs.500, alongwith rs.25000 deposit?
5) should apply for cst separately?
6) in case of inter-state sale, can i use the same vat no or cst no is to be used?

26 December 2011 For the rate of Tax Under MVAT Act, One should refer to Rate Schedules - A, B , C, D And E.
One can get registration Under MVAT voluntarily - immidiately from the date of start of business. or else one shloud cross the threshhold limit of sales under MVAT which is at Present Rs.5.00 lacs. One should apply within 30 days for registration from the date on which you cross the limit of Rs.5.00 lacs.
Registration Fees for Voluntary registration Is Rs.5000/= otherwise its Rs.500/=
For Voluntary Registration one has to give deposit of Rs.25000/=.
Depends on you for application Under CST.
For interstate sales/purchases CST is compulsory.
