Can an applicant run 02 entities under single VAT registration

You can take the Single registration for different branch offices.
But you cannt take single registration for different firm name.

the above said reply is correct. Please follow that.
Within the State, if the Company is having branch only it can register under single VAT. Otherwise with different Company name, then you have to necessariliy register with different VAT.
