Dear Members,
I have been given the task of validating the ITR, i.e. whether the return filed is genuine or not, of a loan applicant in a bank. The Branch Manager has given me only PAN of the applicant and his Form 16, since I do not have the login details of the applicant, how can I verify it ? I have checked this link : https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/e-Filing/Services/ITRVStatusLink.html and it shows that the ITR V Received.

that is all what you can do using the PAN card details. to check whether the data entered in the return matches with what has been submitted to bank or not, you will require login access to the loan applicant's income-tax account
