Anyone can guide me on how to use V look up and H look up in a detailed manner. Plz give me step by step answers. Its very urgent. Thanks for everyone who replied.

V look up function is used to find a cell value in another sheet.
Example Let us on sheet 1, you are given the following values:
Name of Student Marks
A 50
B 70
C 80
On another sheet you want to look up marks of a particular student C
C = Vlookup(Cell refrence of "C" in this sheet, Cell reference of the two column of previous sheet,2,false)
Then you will get marks obtained by C
