An Individual is eligible for deduction u/s 80dd. he can also claim 80ddb. Severe Disability to Children from Birth,Mental Retardation

yes, can be claim, no such restriction for claiming both 80DD &80DDB, both sections eligiblity are independent

value advantage.. he can claim both thoufh in general it is not allowed for the one person to get deduction of one expense or payment twise
