Can anyone plz tel me that whats the time limit within which board of directors meeting is required to be held to approve the annual accounts/balance sheet of the company?Plz reply soon. its urgent....

Hi,
Last date for holding AGM without default is September 30 each year. (I am not going into details)
As per section 171 you have to give 21 days notice to shareholders.
Keeping in view the provisions of section 53 regarding service of notice you should give at least 25 days notice to shareholders. Hence last date for holding board of directors meeting for adoption of the annual accounts/balance sheet of the company would be September 03.
In 3rd September board meeting adopt accounts and notice of AGM and on 4th September dispatch the notice to shareholders.
