Urgent plsssss : no tax credit reflecting in 26as

05 September 2012 I am a salaried person.... wrong PAN has been quoted in my Form 16 as well as while filing TDS return my employer has quoted wrong PAN as a result of which no tax credit is reflecting in my Form 26AS..... Now I have received a letter from IT dept since while filing return I did not check form 26AS neither did I check the mistake in Form 16 and I have claimed the TDS as per FORM 16..... Pls suggest what is the way out now.....my employer has already files the TDS return and I have to answer deficiency letter recd frm income tax within 15 days pls suggest what to do????

05 September 2012 Ask your employer to revise the TDS return. You need to make ROBUST efforts for this.

05 September 2012 Hi Amol thanx for ur reply but in the meantime I want to know what shall I reply to income tax dept since I have to reply to that letter within 15 days

05 September 2012 You can file a reply letter to ITD stating these facts and also attach the Copy of FORM 16.Ask your employer to rectify the TDS returns filed by him giving your Correct PAN.
