Urgent guidance on audit career needed please

30 July 2012 Does a career in Audit have good scope ?

How do you ideally start an Audit career ? Should I take up a job in a good Audit firm, or take up a job in a company ?

I eventually want to end up working in a company and not practice, so if i start from a good audit firm, what are the chances of being hired by a company later on ?

30 July 2012 if you are fresher join any mid sized firm with wherein you cna get exposure to all type of Audits (company audit, trust, tax audit, bnak audits etc). Spend considerable time there to learn everything along with good command over SA. It will be added advantage you clear ISA course.

Only after reasonable experinece you can join Big 4 or a good company in Internal audit dept.

31 July 2012 Thanks for replying. Not a fresher, but i've completed my articleship and only have Group 2 of CA-Final pending. Presently im getting an opportunity in a good audit firm, and just wanted to know if this firm experience will hold value when applying for a company job later on.
