26 July 2012 Dear expert,
In case of a civil contractor, his contractee department is asking him to produce a "No dues certificate" form local income tax department, before giving him the contracts.
Please advise me what is the procedure to obtain such "no dues certificate"?

26 July 2012 There is no such procedure under income tax. Earlier 230(A) certification is cancelled. The advice is that you should make this information known to the authority who is seeking such certificate. Else ask the authority to write aletter to the concerned ITO, requeesting such certificate and it will get the PROPER BEAUROCRATIC answer.
