29 July 2013 Respected sir/Madam,
In my brother's case, the company itself provided the uniform to my brother and shown it as an allowance in his form 16.whether it is exempted or not? No payment was made to him by the company.

29 July 2013 Uniform allowance exempted from tax as per sec.10(14) up to the limit of amount spend out of that allowance. for your brother,company has provided uniform they shown that value only as uniform allowance.so it is fully exempted
