Nothing per se to poor student unless it has 80G eligibility.
There are trusts who have the 80G exemption, who help the poor...Art of Living, Helpage are some of the examples

U need to get the 80G deduction certficate from the person to whom donations are made and no deduction for student donation made.

you can get deduction u/ s 80G when you get the proof of payment and donation institute eligible for 80G.
