21 August 2009 Can anybody tell me pls. whether monthly tution fees paid to a Kolkata based Computer centre (Vocational traing) would be allowed under section 80C? Pls. mention the reason also

21 August 2009 Section 80C of the I T Act does not provide the definition of tuition fee , however there is express provision what can not be allowed in the name of tuition Fee.
The Section 80C (xvii) states “
“as tuition fees (excluding any payment towards any development fees or donation or payment of similar nature), whether at the time of admission or thereafter,
(a) to any university, college, school or other educational institution situated within India;
(b) for the purpose of full-time education of any of the persons specified in sub-section (4);
