03 June 2011 Can anybody help me in finding whether NRI can be trustee of a private trust/charitable trust? and other provisions of Trust for NRI's wishing to set up the trust?

05 June 2011 NRI can be a Trustee in a trust.
For this RBI permission is not required but
it is advisable to inform RBI about the Residential Address and relevant particulars to RBI.

There are certain restrictions on the activities of the Trust having NRI(S) as a trustee. It can not carry on the prohibited activities like agriculture activities and
trading in real estate.
