If someone has passed away without nominating a legal heir for their shareholdings, the process of transferring these shares can still be completed. You'll need to apply directly to the company or its registrar, providing the original share certificates, the deceased's death certificate, and the successor's PAN card and proof of address. Additionally, a legal heir certificate obtained from the relevant revenue authority is typically required.
