Transfer of money to wifes name

Dear Sir,
During my sons wedding my wife gave me 3 Lacs from her earnings for the marriage expenditure.
Now I have retired from my services and now wish to return the money.
I wish to understand the process of doing the same.
Kindly advice on the above.

The process of payment should match with the process of receipt. In case you have received the amount by cheque you can repay the same by cheque.

In case the amount has been received in cash and expended in cash only, then no need to repay the same. You assume that she has contributed the marriage expenditure.
