02 November 2010 Dear All,

I have shifted my office from Durgapur to Kolkata , the same has been updated in the PAN and TAN records. Please advise me how I can get my Income Tax file transferred from Durgapur to Kolkata (both in Income Tax and TDS).

02 November 2010 Write a letter both the authorities i.e. present authority and old authority and meet personnly to present authority (Kolkata) because on yur information Kolkata office will send a leeter to Durgapur income tax office (From department to department)for transferreing of files and records.

07 November 2010 The power of transfer of file is with the Commissioner of Income Tax under section 127 of the I T Act,1961. You write a letter to the CIT where your original files are there giving reasons for seeking transfer of file and the place , preferebaly the Ward or commissioner where you want your files transferred. A copy of the letter should be marked to the CIT /ITO where you want your files to be transferred.
