Transfer of articalship on medical ground

31 May 2014 Dear sir,

I am in the third year of articleship and want transfer on medical ground but i have following doubts-

i)when should i send a request for transfer to the Institute (at starting or after 3 months)?

ii)what should be the content of medical certificate given by a govt. doctor?

iii) what shall be the consequences of this transfer, will this reduce the period of articleship done up to now by me?

iv) what if my principle doesn't become agree for my transfer on medical ground?

01 June 2014 lets start in reverse order:

1. if your principal doesn't agree, then there is nothing that you can do.

2. you need to take a break of atleast three months to be eligible for transfer for medical grounds.

3. yes medical certificate by govt doctor is sufficient

4. you should apply at the starting part of the illness.

5. please use this only if you are genuinely ill....otherwise you just end up spoiling case for other genuine medical cases as ICAI starts looking at these things suspiciously.
