.read ICAI study material for a good understanding of subject.(READ REFERENCE BOOKS FOR MORE CLARITY OF THOUGHT AND DEPTH OF SUBJECT.BUT DONT WASTE MUCH TIME ON REF. BOOKS) 2.but passing exam. WITH RANK is differnet,where you must analyse pattern of past exam. questions and solved answers provided by ICAI and THEY ARE available. 3.repeat,repeat reading of past questions and answers again and again, because this is the secret for a good memory . 4. write down important sections,case law given in icai study material and past ques. and answers . one time writing is ten times reading. 5. try to read legal and commercial and business articles and judgements in news papers or web or journals AND ONE MUST QUOTE IF NOT ALL ATLEAT A FEW IMPORTANT ONES.YOU CAN MAKE VERY GOOD IMPRESSION OF THE EXAMINER. 6. accounts is a scoring subject. so also financial management, costing portion in accounts and fin. management etc.fetch good marks. 7.express clearly while talking or discussing subjects with professional colleagues. 8. conduct among friends mock exams or tests under exam conditions.each evaluate others answers. 9. good and neat hand writing and clarity of expression puts you on top. 10.when thousansds of students write exams, why only a few get good marks/rank? answer with clarity,logic.neat but brief presentation,quoting relevant sections and case law,dividing into appropriate paras avoiding overwriting, etc...is the trick. good luck. iam a c.a final 26 th rank holder in 1973 c.a final exams. i used to quote from news papers,like economic times etc... and also case law and judgements and appropriate quotations of famous authorities like icai,cost and management institutes authors and from clippings.this i feel makes tremendous impact on the valuers. you know they are bored reading and reading the same types of sterio type answers. i keep myself away from the mass and made difference in answering through quotes, clippings, judgements of famous authors and authorities on the subject. even important case law and sections were used to be quoted by me.good english, brief,and straight out of heart replies impress any body . repitetion is secret of memory. i used to prepare short synopsis on important topics like inventory management, general economy of the country, inflation data,audit techniques,ratio anlysis,break even point, varaiance and budgetary control,etc... my theme was read how previious exams questions were given and answeresd in icai suggested answers. if one repeats 5 years suggested answers ,it means 10 sets of papers( nov and may exam, each year) were reviewed.it gives lot of clues as to how to answer and impress examiner. there is no rigid plan or schedule .one must have overall grip on subjects to answer with clarity. as you grill with previous years answers of ten examinations of ICAI as said above, you will certainly know what to read and rememeber and repeat and try to write also. discuss with professional friends who are also appearing with you to know your expression and your level of knowledge and where you are hollow.conduct mock tests and written ones prefarably. Read Article CA Students And Examinations. Also create a schedule which is realistic. Recreate at regular intervals. Study two subjects at a time. Keep stop loss of time for various events. If you fit on a particular day and read 10 pages and feel like reading 10 more go for it. Make hay while the sun shines. While studying always remember the efforts parents made for bringing you in this professional course. It is all about loving our parents.
