29 June 2010 Hi, Dear to all

I would like to know whether there is any time limit for Refund of Tax? If yes, what is Limitation of Time Period? Take A.Y 2009-10 for example.

29 June 2010 generally it will come after one year from the end of the assesment year. Currently refund for the a.y. 2008-09 is comming.

02 July 2010 Although there is no stipulated time within which TDS refunds need to be processed, it usually takes ten to twelve months from the date of submission of return of income for the relevant financial year. However, if the refund takes abnormally higher amount of time to be processed, the assessee might take this matter up with appropriate authorities, as prescribed by the Income Tax Act.
