Please tell me what is the time gap between the date of notice of Board Meeting and date of Board Meeting

07 July 2009 Hello Saurabh,

In Companies Act, 1956 Section 285 to Section 290 mainly deal with Board Meeting.

In Companies Act, 1956 there is no provision regarding time gap between date of notice of Board Meeting and date of Board Meeting.

But as per Secretarial Standard-1 issued by ICSI on 'Meetings of the Board of Directors' it is clearly mentioned that:

"The agenda, setting out the businesses to be transacted at the Board Meeting, and notes on agenda should be given at least 7 days before the date of the Board meeting."

For any doubt please revert.
