22 August 2014 sir/mam, i have joined article ship on 27th April 2013 and taken termination form the firm on April 27 th 2014.i did not join another firm till now my final attempt which was actually in November 2015 is post poned to may of 2016 .please tell me what is the time limit to join another firm so that my final attempt is not postponed again?

### ICAI Rules & Guidelines:

1. **Continuous Articleship Requirement:**

* For CA Final, you must complete **3 years of continuous articleship training** before becoming eligible to appear.
* Any break between termination and rejoining another firm **can delay your eligibility**.

2. **Rejoining Time Limit:**

* There is **no explicit fixed 'time limit'** mentioned in ICAI regulations to join another firm after termination.
* However, the gap during which you are **not undergoing articleship training is not counted** towards your 3 years.
* So if you wait too long to join a new firm, your articleship period extends accordingly, **postponing your exam eligibility.**

3. **Advice for your case:**

* Since you terminated on 27 April 2014 and have not joined another firm yet, your articleship period is currently **paused**.
* To avoid further postponement, **join a new firm as soon as possible**.
* Once you join, submit the **Form 103 (joining form) along with the previous Form 109 (termination)** to ICAI to update your training records.
* Your articleship clock will resume from the joining date.

4. **Effect on Final Exam:**
