08 November 2013 i am graduate registered for IPCC under DIRECT ENTRY.i wanted to ask about the duration of articleship for direct entry students inclusive of 9 months compulsory training before exam.

11 November 2013 It is 3 years of article ship inclusive of 9 months of article ship to be eligible to appear in IPCC exam.

Also i wanted to ask whether project finance firms are better than firms conducting normal audit and tax.i am presently employed with a firm which practices normal tax and audit so should i continue or change a firm where only Project Finance training is provided? please guide

About your second question — whether to continue with a firm doing normal audit & tax or switch to a firm specializing in project finance:

Provide broad exposure to varied industries, accounting standards, compliance, and taxation. This builds a solid foundation in mainstream CA skills.

* **Project Finance firms:**
More specialized, focusing on financing projects, structuring deals, financial modeling, and sometimes lending regulations. This is niche and may be good if you want to build expertise in finance or banking sectors.

**My suggestion:**
If your career interest is broad CA practice or you want to keep options open, stay in audit & tax firm initially. Later, you can specialize.

If you are sure about a career in project finance or want exposure in that field, shifting might help.
