25 June 2013 9 PEOPLE CAME TOGETHER TO CONSTRUCT BUILDING OF 9 FLOORS WHICH IS MEANT FOR PERSONAL USE AND NOT FOR RESALE. EACH ONE OF THEM HAS TAKEN EACH FLOOR. WHETHER TDS U/S 194C(4) IS APPLICABLE FOR THIS CASE

25 June 2013 It depends upon the terms and manner in which the Project is being carried on.
.
If the work is carried on individually for own and not for others, it is not a case of 194C.
.
However, each one of them has allocated activities and carried on the project then in respect to work done for others, the person can be treated as a contractor.
