09 February 2013 if charitable trust runs the non grant school and provide the building to school and collect the rent for the same. Is rent liable to TDS & Service Tax?

09 February 2013 if both are separate entities as per income tax Act, then RENT is subject to 194I. Service tax will also be applicable in that case.

10 February 2013 Separate entities means, both are maintaining their books of A/cs separately and also R&P Statement are separate but I&E A/c and B/s is consolidated.......

11 February 2013 whether school is separately taxed under income tax and charitable is separately taxed under income tax... that is the punch line.
