Tds on telephone land line bills after amendment of sec 9

14 September 2012 Hello All

Currently are deducting TDS on internet bills, but not deducting TDS on telephone bills, but after amendment in Section 9, one explanation 6 has been added "process" includes and shall be deemed to have always included transmission by satellite (including up-linking, amplification, conversion for down-linking of any signal), cable, optic fibre or by any other similar technology, whether or not such process is secret;]

Now our auditors are taking view that after above amendment TDS is required to be deducted from telephone bills also

Service provider is not going to accept TDS deduction on telephone bills

14 September 2012 Who said service provider is not accepting this? In Pune, our clients are deducting TDS from the bills of BSNL even with effect from financial year 2010-11. Go and get in touch with the commercial officer of BSNL and he/she will guide you.
