10 February 2010 Indivdual is an salaried employee whose salary is not liable to tax but he wishes his employer deduct TDS from his salary. Can employer deduct TDS.

10 February 2010 Employer will not deduct TDS unless any tax is payable on the amount of Income.
In case u have any other income which makes ur salary taxable, then report it to the employer and then TDS can be deducted by the employer.

Even if you want to pay tax (Don't know why) then, pay advance tax.

10 February 2010 if he is asking to deduct there must be he is having a taxable income other than salary. you can deduct.Employer responsible is to calculate employee total income and tax based on the employee declaration so you can deduct TDS
