employer not deducted Tds on salaries when employee was working.
After Employee resigned, employer checked and now employee is liable for tds on salary.
employer has no contact with employee now.
Pls suggest remedy.

Let the company bear the burden of tds as it is the mistake of the company otherwise the ITO TDS might start proceeding. If the company takes the risk it is possible as salary is not covered by 40(a)(ia) and nothing will happen to the company. Once the employee files his or her return he or she will have to pay the due taxes.
