TDS on Interest other than Securities - 194A

27 February 2010 While paying TDS, the section code has been wrongly mentioned as 194C(TDS on Contract & Subcontract) instead of 194A (TDS on Interest other than interest on securities).

How to change the section code?
OR
What are the procedures to change the section code pls tell me?

27 February 2010 U need to contact ur local income tax range give them a application.

Secondly u need to send application to Circule office also.

28 February 2010 you have to do as expert said. and also you need file your etds return in actual sec. 194A ok..

We can't file etds by mentioning actual sec i.e194A because while validatating the file, it will show error.

But in earlier version we can do like this,not now.

If we can do now also, pls tell me .
