TDS NOT REMITTED

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
If your lessee has deducted TDS from your lease rent but failed to remit it to the tax department for a specific month, you have recourse. Even if your Income Tax Return (ITR) was processed without accounting for that month's TDS, you can still claim it back. It's advisable to write to the lessee company formally, requesting they pay the deducted TDS. You can also lodge a formal complaint with the company to resolve the issue and ensure you receive the tax amount.

01 May 2020 My lessee has deducted TDS from my lease rent and NOT REMITTED TO IT DEPT FOR ONE MONTH (DEC. 2018) ONLY.

ITR was filed and processed WITHOUT TAKING THE PARTICULAR MONTH’s TDS.

Please advise and guide me to receive back the TDS from the lessee company.

02 May 2020 Write to the lessee company to pay the TDS deducted but not remitted as you have filed the return and paid the tax.

08 May 2020 Make a formal complaint on the same to the company and request to settle the issue.
