20 November 2013 tds was not claimed in a belated return.what are the recourses available now.

20 November 2013 Now being belated return it can not be revised...

One remedy available with you is to wait for return to be processed by CPC. After processing the return they will send the Intimation.. After that you can apply for rectification... The Income Tax officer will surely allow the TDS credit on rectification if it is appearing in 26AS...

20 November 2013 'Rectification' is not possible. Seek 'revision' before CIT after obtaining intimation.

I am not able to recall as to why the rectification will not be possible in this case???
It will be of immense help if you will please throw light on the provisions stating so....

22 November 2013 Assessing officer will decline to entertain the TDS claim which was not made in the return on the ground that his/her power is limited to the return w.e.f June 1, 1999.

29 November 2013 Thanks for the information sir.. But with due respect to your answer sir, I want to say that in many cases I have got returns rectified for TDS claims even though they were filed belated..
