26 December 2007 tds deducted on bill including service tax or excluding service tax.

our clinet ONGC Ltd net bill given after deduction of service tax on that amount we deducted TDs as per contractors

this is correct or not

TDS on contractors bill with service tax has to be deducted on total amount including service tax.

26 December 2007 I also agree TDS on total bill value including service tax is leviable.

26 December 2007 When it is a contract bill, the contract amount should include the service tax as the income tax law specifies as "any sum' for calculation of tds, but if the tds is for professional charges then service tax can be deducted for calculating tds.
