Tds applicable on public sector undertaking

Anybody can let me know, do we need to deduct TDS for public sector undertaking.If yes, pls share the govt notification if any.

24 June 2013 Yes. TDS applicable for public sector undertaking also unless they got tds exemption certificate

25 June 2013 Thanks for the reply. Can you confirm, do you have any notifications since we are dealing with Airport Authority of India, and they are demanding either Income tax notifcaiton or any other kind of valid proof.

25 June 2013 Sir. TDS provisions applicable to all except government payments. TDS deductor only need to ask from deductee in case any exemption on tds they are having.

How ever Airport authority of India is government authority. so TDS will not apply
